CETME L Parts Kit

Sold as a kit. A solid source of replacement parts for your CETME L.

Each kit is complete except for the barrel and receiver. The factory trunnion is still in place inside the sheet metal front end, and the bayonet lug and sling ring remain attached to the front sight block. No de-milled barrel or receiver pieces are included.

Kits ship with either a 3-prong or a standard A2 “birdcage” flash hider. No selection is available, so you’ll receive one or the other.

Condition: These are OD green and carry years of military service on them. Expect fading, discoloration, and scratches that run deep into the synthetic stock. The rear sight windage screw may be missing its tip. Additional wear, marring, and grime should be assumed.

The CETME L is chambered in 5.56mm NATO and accepts standard AR15/M16 magazines.

About the CETME Model L

The Model L traces back to WWII Germany. Mauser’s MP43/MP44/Stg.45 program produced the roller-delayed lineage, and when several Mauser engineers relocated to Spain after the war, they carried that work with them to CETME (today Santa Barbara SA). Their efforts eventually produced the 7.62mm NATO CETME C.

Development didn’t stop there. CETME engineers began exploring a smaller-caliber rifle in the mid-1960s, and the first 5.56mm Model L prototype appeared in 1980. Production started in 1984, and the Spanish army adopted it as the Assault Rifle Model L. It served until 1999, when the H&K G36E replaced it.

Like its predecessors, the Model L is a selective-fire, delayed blowback design. The two-piece bolt uses a pair of rollers in the bolt head. These accelerate the bolt body rearward while retarding the bolt head, holding the cartridge in the chamber until firing pressure drops. Grooved chamber walls assist extraction. The rear sight is a simple flip-up “L” sheet with 200 and 400 meter apertures, and the magazine well was designed from the outset to take M16-pattern magazines.
