A standard AR15/M4 carbine castle nut. It threads onto the carbine receiver extension (buffer tube) and locks it, together with the end plate, to the back of the lower receiver. Torque it down and stake it so it stays put under recoil. A basic, essential part of any carbine buffer-tube build. This one is a blem, so it may show cosmetic imperfections, but it threads and torques like any other.
