G17 Slide – Lightened/Ported, Black, Blem

We found this one by accident. We were looking for a box of takedown pins that has been missing since roughly the Obama administration, and instead we found this, wedged behind a filing cabinet nobody remembers buying, wrapped in a shop rag that smelled like solvent and regret. No paperwork. No note. No pins, either, which is the part that still stings. Somebody clearly took a G17 slide, decided it had too much slide on it, and started removing material, a window here, a cut there, until it stopped being a solid block of intentions and became a solid block of fewer intentions. Then they hid it behind a filing cabinet, as one does. We put it on the scale, frowned, put it on a different scale, because that’s science, and it came up light. It’s black. Flat, honest, disappears-in-a-drawer black. It doesn’t match your other gear so much as it declines to argue with it.

It’s a G17. It does G17 things. It goes clack, and thanks to the window up top and the lightening work, it goes clack with a little less drama climbing back at your wrist. Less slide to sling around means it returns to where it started a hair quicker. Your splits will notice and your ego will take full credit.

There’s an RMR-footprint optic cut milled into the rear, so you can aim with a glowing dot like a person from the future or with the irons like a person from the past. Both are on the table. Serrations front and back, so there’s somewhere to grab whether you’re a front-serration enthusiast or someone who just uses whatever’s under their hand.

It’s a blem. There’s a little something on it somewhere, a mark, a scuff, a freckle it earned before it got here, probably during its time behind the filing cabinet. We didn’t put it there, and we’re not going to pretend we can’t sell you a flawless one at twice the price. This one works fine, it just isn’t auditioning for a catalog cover. Coat it, Cerakote it, or leave it alone. It’s your slide now.
